A Progressive Policy to Reduce Inequality in Education

Educational opportunity for all people has always been a defining progressive value for any country. Every student has the right to have educators who believe in them. Every student is worth of high expectations. From recent years we have been noticing educational inequality in different schools. What is in-equality in education?

Educational inequality refers to the difference that students experience in their education as compared to other students. This inequality is not a matter of just public and private schools. Treating a top-class and below-average student dissimilarly is also educational inequality.

It is time that we stop this academic racism and treat every student in the same manner. Below is my suggestion of a progressive policy, which we are in dire need to apply to end this unjust system.

1. Provide Extra Credit Hour To Below Average student:

Whether the student is below-average, average, or top track, it shapes the way they think and act about themselves. Make them believe that they are capable of achieving more. Every school management software key features should include facilities to cater to such issues. Give them tutoring in the week areas. Deliver them with extra materials, and take additional quizzes for improvement.

2. Create a safe and healthy environment:

The most ignored factor in our education is the mental health of the student. Mental health issues such as attention difficulties, depression, anxiety, bullying, stress, and eating disorder are directly related to lower academic achievement and capability. Tell them to embrace their mistakes, and it will help them because you will only learn better with your mistakes.

3. Offer Meal to All Students:

Providing a healthy, full of nutritious meal to all students regardless of the income of their parents, would solve many problems. Taking care of all children’s nutritional needs will help in keeping the students healthier and more active, which would eventually support their learning. Tell your students you feel for you. Empathy is probably one of the firmest feelings, and the most crucial rule to have a good life. Because of this, you can understand what others are feeling.

4. Train & Pay your teachers equally:

Train your instructors and teachers properly. The result of low paying to a teacher is that young people are avoiding the teaching profession entirely, and excellent teachers are staying away from public schools. The public schools are fallen prey to this system, and their education quality is decreasing day by day.

5. Counseling for Students:

The main advantage a public school can give to their students is guidance counseling. By this, I don’t mean to hire just anybody who can talk through things but a profession with an actual degree. Counselors prove beneficial, and they help prepare students for academic, career, and any social challenges they may face. Some students don’t want to talk about their issues at home, so an individual session with a guidance counselor will be accommodating.

Education of its youth is the root of every country’s economic challenges, and by making improvements to the education system, we can offer the solution to many problems.
